This is a clip of the first helyxtm wind turbine to be tested outside the laboratory. Oregon Wind Corporation co-founded by inventor Toby Kinkaid to produce this prototype to demonstrate, and develop a new wind technology that is silent running, safe for birds, and works in all environments. This test is interesting in that the turbine is on its side with great response characteristics. This was the first demonstration of a technology that promises to be the least expensive clean energy converter ever manufactured. The first truly mass-produced clean power converter. This clip was filmed at Cannon Beach, Oregon in 2003. Haystack Rock behind.

It tells the site that produces 40W with Wind 28 mph.

You’re right, thankfully hail storms don’t happen every day.
But all it takes is one bad hail storm to knock out your generator’s blades.
But I plan to buy one anyway, when they are available.

  10. busog97641 Says:

Yea, because we are consistently having hail storms like everyday.

    Straw pile Rock FTW!

Looks great. Will it be able to have higher rpm speeds compared to regular fan bladed wind generators?

sec 6 the guy says WOOW WOOW WOOW!~ repet the video 3 times and sounds funny!

The Helyx wind turbine uses an “inverse roman arch” in its lines. Recyclable plastics are actually very strong used this way. Metal is not desireable for weight and safety concerns.

How many watts does it produce? Total installation cost?

Isn’t that haystack rock in the background? anyway good Idea, wind power is fun.

very interesting, looks like the runners in a supercharger/blower. is this where you got the idea from ? its the first thing i thought of when i saw it.

Turbine Neat. Is that the configuration used in higher torque applications? Btw, because that type say “WOOooooowooooowwooow”? LOL!
