www.bloodandoilmovie.com Now Available on DVD Featuring the author of Rising Powers, Shrinking Planet; Blood and Oil; and Resource Wars. "Of course it's about oil, we can't really deny that." Fmr. CENTCOM Commander General John Abizaid Synopsis The notion that oil motivates America's military engagements in the Middle East is often disregarded as nonsense or mere conspiracy theory. Blood and Oil, a new documentary based on the critically-acclaimed work of Nation magazine defense correspondent Michael T. Klare, challenges this conventional wisdom to correct the historical record. The film unearths declassified documents and highlights forgotten passages in prominent presidential doctrines to show how concerns about oil have been at the core of American foreign policy for more than 60 years — rendering our contemporary energy and military policies virtually indistinguishable. In the end, Blood and Oil calls for a radical re-thinking of US energy policy, warning that unless we change direction, we stand to be drawn into one oil war after another as the global hunt for diminishing world petroleum supplies accelerates.

@christinaandzack oil doesn’t do damage to living things when it is locked away in the ground. oil is encapsulated in the crust of the earth, and rarely does it just come out on its own. oil cant harm rocks, but when it is exposed to living organisms is when it becomes a problem. living organisms cant be around this stuff because its toxic and sticky. it clogs their mouths and breathing systems.

If we spent half the money we spent on the wars in the Middle East, alternative energy, there would be no need to invade in the first place.

I’m having trouble thinking of anything else that’s worth spending blood on. Sure as hell not buying gold with blood, you can’t use gold for anything. We’ve got rubber, we’ve got land, we’ve got metal, no, oil is basically all we need right now. So spend away, just keep the exchange rate good.

The term is petroleum, not gasoline. The public thinks the addiction is to the gas to run their cars, but it is also the asphalt the cars drive on, and the plastics that half the car is made of. The part of petroleum not turned into gas, is the basis of hundreds of industries. America’s economy runs on heavy crude.
Just like the 47% of the cow not eaten by humans, is the raw material for hundreds of industries. Millions of cows aren’t fattened and slaughtered just for burgers.

  16. ocean3da Says:

Invade just for that? Or because America faces a serious decline with no quick alternative?

Many decades would be intentional. Its not exhausting the oil that è the problem, its oil cheap ei its costs of extraction. It acquires the Lastoilshock book from David Strahan, journalist of the BBC. It concurs to see ci

Who l' it has said quickly? The passage puà ² to happen within 15 years, è 90% of the total consumption of oil and l' I use gone! And who devil has spoken about hydrogen? L' è hydrogen un' energy of merda bilk pià ¹ money outside of we. L' hydrogen would have to be used commercially like for the semifinished trains, buses and. Not for the normal civil use. We could have the leading 95% of nations that use EV in 10 years, this could of state made before, if GM and our government would not have killed l' idea in 2000.

  20. ocean3da Says:

No there are no alternatives that can replace oil quickly, they are oil. Remember I’m sure you do.

Who’s been in a hydrogen car in a test crash no one. No hydrogen lorry even exists to move food to a super market.
