A new crisis is emerging, a global food catastrophe that will reach further and be more crippling than anything the world has ever seen. The credit crunch and the reverberations of soaring oil prices around the world will pale in comparison to what is about to transpire. there testing nuclear fusion reactors that have no waste or polution unlike fission reactors and they produce alot more electric and its safer and they have a much longer life span compaired to fission every few years they have to replace the uranium/plutonium rods. chernobyl was caused by a flaw. the person who was incharge of builting it rushed it so he could get paid a bonus and they dint insert the sensers into the reactor properly and there was a hotspot that they couldnt see.

I think we should invest in the most economical and effective for power. Gas, nuclear, wind, solar, water etc..

Yeah, it’s like shooting yourself in the foot while jogging. . . doesn’t make much sense does it. I think solar is truly the answer, but tell that to the oil companies.

To make one gallon of ethanol. It takes, 1. 2 Gallons of Petroleum, 450 pounds of corn, and 1,200 gallons of water. Interesting, and it only gets 1/3 of the energy that Regular gas can supply.

Thank you fishmarc. . . . I am so saddened with the news lately about world hunger and food shortages. This is only part of the reason, but it’s a start. What good is fuel for our vehicles if we don’t have fuel for our stomachs? Millions upon millions will die in the very near future, and I think this is only the beginning. We should also stop eating meat and raping our planet of it’s resources. Everyone should just take a few steps backwards and appreciate what we have, before its gone.

OK, granted you are looking long term. It took the U.S. over 100 years to build our systems of power supply. Also cost trillions of dollars of investment (not all of it paid for the time being). So begins the work of small and large. I still see 100 years + at the end.

  20. 1loydster Says:

Iproth. Task that you will be taking in end!

  21. ilovefelixthecatfood Says:

will you ever be dam happy and just forget about it if it is not one thing it is another

  22. 1loydster Says:

The fabrication process would improve remarkablly with l' to increase of the question, and would be much best to put combustible ours remaining was them in building rather dall' incineration in this phase.

Lithium alki metal- stripe mining. 6 billion + need the same system. get the picture. Also new imporvide solar panels being made in FABs ( I work in one ) some of the chem we use. HF, H3PO4, HCL, HNO3 and worse. Metals such as copper, gold, tungsten, and. . . ect. We are good about recycling our chems. . . not all companes are. again 6 billion+. not looking good. Fabs are huge power consumers. . . thats not coming from batteries.

  25. 1loydster Says:

We are living in the age of lithium-Polymer and our ability to store electricity is very realistic. I’m very familiar with what solar panels are made of and their efficiency and they can easily be made to last. I spent quite a few years living on my 52′ yacht with my wife and kids, and had a very reliable, maintenance free, solar charged multi bank electrical system. Via the inverter it produced constant 110v a/c and kept my d/c starting banks charged as well, not to mention the hot water!
